Heklet veske / Crocheted bag.

The winter season is a time for crafting. Over the next months, untill the gardening season starts in spring, I am planning to do some knitting and crocheting.
My first item, a crocheted bag, is now finished. It was quick and fun to crochet.
The pattern for the bag I got from my friend Yael. She has made one like it before. Photos of her crocheted bag here

The bag was crocheted from plant dyed wool yarn in yellow and green shades, and I am happy with how it turned out :)

A heart shaped button by the flap, and also as decoration on each side by the strap.
There is lots of room inside the bag.
I think that I would like to line it eventually.

As always it is difficult to show plant dyed colours correctly in photographs...(the green looks too yellow in the photos above and too grey in the photos below).
The photos above were taken in sunlight, and the photos below in shade.

Hi,Hilde.
How tasteful that bag is! It looks like a spring bag, which inspires me to go out, skipping.

WOW!!!!! You did it! It looks wonderful Hilde! I love the buttons!

I just want to mention, that the pattern was not created by me, I found it on the Internet, but I do not remember where - so I give credit and say thank you to the unknown person who posted it there.

I want to make a second one too - in red! What do you think? :-)

Lovely! I love the colours and the button is so cute! What a difference a button can make... what plants did you use to dye the yarn?

Thank you all for the nice comments :)

Yael: A red bag would be lovely, I'm sure!! And I hope you will post photos of it, I would love to see :)

Kristin: The yellow yarn was dyed with heather, and the green with mugwort.
Dyeing with heather works very well, while I have learned that mugwort fades a little in time.

Your bag turned out beautifully! I love the shape and neutral coloring with the large buttons. I would be proud to carry such a bag as this!

Går an å prøve..

Klem
