Stash-busting #3 - Hair clips.

I have a bag where I collect those small bits of yarn that are left over from crochet and knit projects. Those scraps are of a variety of yarn qualities, many are just small bits, and it's not so easy to find something to spend them on.

In my crafts stash I have had a couple of undecorated hair clips stored away. Originally my plan was to make beaded decorations for them, but I came to think that I could crochet decorations from my scrap bits of yarn.

Tutorial til heklet rose her og her.

I crocheted a bow and a flower and sewed the hair clips on to them.
The pattern for the bow was found here, but my bow is a little bit bigger and is decorated with a button from my button stash.
Crochet flower tutorial here and here.

This little project took 15 grams of yarn, and from my little bag of scrap yarn I spent three bits of pink yarn and one of green.
These crochet hair clips were fun to make, and I think they turned out nice :)

Lovely but I have short hair so have no need. Don't know whether that is you or your daughter but love the hair colour. Red also runs in our family.

I just found your blog love all the soft colored crochet squares in the header . I also enjoyed this post with the creative crocheted hair adornments, very nice. I just started crocheting again after a long time off . Since it has remained cold here in New England I tried this week to give my little dog a crocheted sweater ...it got a little funny. If you get a chance to visit you will see what I mean. Glad to have found you I shall now happilly follow along and see what else you create !
